• Starting the Game
  • Click on the blue and white play button.
    • If you have not played the game before this will start the first level.
    • If you have played the game before it will bring up the level select screen.
    • Each level must be beat to unlock further levels.
    • Your local web browser stores your level completion and star rating data.
  • The welcome screen also has buttons for sound control and game developer info in the upper right and lower left corners respectively.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop:
    • Use your keyboard arrow keys to have Tom run left and right as needed to bounce food across the screen.
    • There is a pause button in the upper right corner of the game. Pressing it brings up the instructions menu which allows you to turn sounds on or off, go to the level select screen, restart the current level, or resume the game.
  • Mobile: Use on-screen controls.
• Strategy
  • Catching Food
    • Use your arms or the pillow to touch the food items (fish, watermelon, tomatoes, eggs, and ice cream) as they fall to bounce them across the screen.
      • The food will bounce from left to right no matter what direction Tom is facing.
    • As you advance through levels Jerry throws multiple foods (and sometimes other obstacles) in rapid succession. In such cases each set of throws comes in a wave and you may need to go back and forth between the food items to safely bounce them across the screen.
    • You do not have to worry about bouncing the food too far. If it bounces above and past the food pile it falls back onto it.
    • The upper right corner of the screen shows how many food items Jerry has left to throw from the refrigerator.
  • Avoiding Obstacles
    • Jerry throws a variety of obstacles at you including bananas, ketchup packs, boots and opened food cans.
      • Banana Peals – when Tom runs across these he slides for a bit and moves quickly. Try to time running over bananas just after bouncing the food so you have plenty of time to readjust your positioning.
      • Ketchup Packs – when Tom steps on ketchup packets on the ground it causes the center part of the screen to turn red as though it had been splatted by ketchup. This aspect lasts for a couple seconds, so be sure to know where the food is & where you need to be before you step on the pack.
      • Boots & Cans – if you try to catch either of these or they hit you in the head you get dazed for a second and while you are dazed the left and right arrows work backward.
    • If you avoid stepping on a banana peal or ketchup pack it eventually disappears after a couple seconds.
    • If you do not get hit by the boots or cans while they are in the air they disappear when they hit the ground. Sometimes you must walk Tom past where you would want him to be and then have him turn left to catch the food in order to hit the food without hitting a can or boot.
  • Level Rating
    • The current level number shows in the upper left corner of the screen.
    • You start each of the 10 levels with a 3 star rating, as shown in the bar across the top of the screen.
    • Each piece of food which hits the ground lowers your rating.
    • You can unlock further levels when you complete a level even if your rating is less than 3.
  • Restarting the Game
    • When the game is over it shows your current score, your all time high score, and there is a yellow “Play Again” button on the game over screen.
    • When you play again you once again can choose to play as Tom or Jerry and set the difficulty level.
