• Starting the Game
  • Tap anywhere on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels and star ratings on each level.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Keyboard
      • Press the up arrow key to move up.
      • Press the down arrow key to move down.
      • Press the left arrow key to move left.
      • Press the right arrow key to move right.
    • You can also move by holding in your mouse left click button and dragging in the direction you want to move, though it is less precise than keystrokes.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger and drag your finger across the screen in the direction you would like to move.
      • This game is easier to play on desktop devices than on mobile devices as key presses offer more precise controls.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen shows your coin savings.
    • The top center shows stars which turn yellow when you have collected enough coins to earn that star rating on the current level.
    • The upper right corner has a pause button. When the game is paused it shows the level number you are playing, and has buttons to control game sound and music.
    • The level select screen shows how many levels you have beat, the star rating earned on each stage, and how many coins you collected from each level.
      • The level select screen has arrows for scrolling through the 3 different game maps, with each map having 15 levels on it.

• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a slide puzzle maze game where your goal is to help the piggy find its way to the level exit portal without running into a hazard.
      • Each time you move the movements move from edge to edge until you run into another wall or block.
    • As you move around the stage and run over coins you collect them, which drives the star rating earned on the stage.
    • On each level you can continue once, but after that if you hit another obstacle you’ll need to start at the beginning of the stage.
  • Level features
    • Coins – collect these to earn up to a 3-star rating on each stage.
    • Walls & boxes – whenever you move you move until you run into something.
      • Take advantage of the contour of the stage to collect most or all the coins & make it to the exit safely while avoiding hazards.
      • Sometimes the game has glitches in it where you can through a wall and end up on the wrong side of it. If this happens pause the level and go back to the level select screen to reload it again.
    • Exit portal – the area where you exit the stage to play the next.
    • Spikes – some walls have spikes on them that do not retract.
      • You can run parallel to tese walls, but you can not run directly into them or you will die.
    • Retractable spikes – yellow walls and boxes will have spikes appear on them shortly after you run into them or past them.
      • You must quickly move off the location where they are triggered or you will die.
      • You have to wait for them to retract again before moving across that area.
    • Spinners – these are like the fireballs on a string rotating clockwise around a box in Super Mario Bros.
      • You can touch the box in the middle but can not touch the tails.
      • Some of these allow you to rest in the corners nearby, whereas on others you have to sprint across quickly with precise timing.
    • Double spinners – these are like spinners except they have tails at two opposite ends.
      • You can run into the box in the middle but can not run into either tail.
    • Shooters – canons embedded in the wall shoot at a regular interval.
      • You can run into the side of shooters, but can not get hit by the projectiles they fire.
      • Some moves require you to multiple shooters at the same time, where the shooters can fire in the same direction or orthogonally.
    • Springs
      • When you run into a spring on the wall it will bounce you forward to the next wall.
      • Many springs are oriented in a sequence.
      • In most cases springs will not move you into harm’s way, though there are a few springs that you have to move off the end of their sequence to avoid getting hit.
    • Warps
      • You can only through warps in one direction.
      • After a warp has been used you can move across or through the exit warp to collect coins.
    • Inflatable blocks – these pulsate back and forth between regular block state and a block which takes up the 8 squares surrounding the center block.
      • You can bounce off them and use them as a stop when they are not inflated.
      • If you touch them while inflated you die.
      • You can rest near them if you are at least 2 squares away from the central square.
    • Sliders – sliding boxes move back and forth at a regular interval.
      • You can run into them to slide along with them on their path.
      • When you are located on them you can slide off to other boxes or other fixed locations, usually at the end of the track path.
      • In most cases sliders will not move you into harm, but in a few cases you need to jump off before the end of the track or else they will run you into spikes.
      • In some cases you need to move backward on sliders, jumping back onto sliders you already moved past, so that your timing is correct to jump onto a slider that is a couple moves forward.
  • Levels
    • This game has 45 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it through the exit portal.
      • You die if you run into a hazard.
        • If you die once you can continue either by spending 200 coins, or by clicking on the continue button and waiting 10 seconds for the mock ad to show.
        • When you revive and continue there is a 3-second countdown and you start with a forcefield that goes away a few seconds later.
        • You can only continue once on each stage & then if you die again you’ll have to start that level over again at the beginning.
        • If you choose not to continue you can replay the level from the beginning.
    • Star ratings
      • You earn a star rating on each stage you complete based on how many coins you collect.
      • If you collect all the coins you will earn 3 stars.
      • If you miss a single coin or two coins you will usually earn 3 stars.
      • Miss more than a couple coins and you will earn 2 stars or less.
      • You can unlock the next level by beating a stage even if you earned a low star rating on it.
  • Tips
    • Each time you play a level you’ll face the same layout and enemy set, so it can be helpful to memorize tricky parts.
      • Some stages require you to time movements among multiple different obstacles at the same time.
      • Most moves only require you to time a single obstacle at a time.
      • Rest in between areas where there are no hazards present.
    • If you earn fewer than 3 stars on a level keep playing through to the end of the game and then come back to collect the remaining stars you missed.
