• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the red play button twice to begin.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your best score. Your best score is displayed on the welcome screen.

  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click on a pair of matching tiles to clear them from the screen.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on a pair of matching tiles with your fingers to clear them.

      • Home button: Returns you to the welcome screen
      • Music button: Turns the game’s sounds on or off

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Find and clear pairs of identical animals from the pile.
      • To clear a pair, select one animal and then another.
      • The pairs that are valid can be connected with one line that has fewer than 3 right angle bends.
    • Clear all the pairs to win.
      • The game ends when you are unable to clear any more lines.
    • Filling
      • On the first level stones do not move.
      • In subsequent levels, the animal tiles fill in different directions. Level 2 fills down, level 3 fills up, level 4 fills left, level 5 fills right, etc.
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked in sequence.
      • You start automatically at the first level when playing for the first time.
      • Finish one level to unlock the next.
    • Keep playing until you are unable to find enough pairs.
    • The game does not save your progress if you choose to exit it.
  • Assistance
    • You have two assistance options on the bottom right corner of the screen:
      • Shuffles rearrange all the tiles in the entire field.
      • Hints point out the location of a specific pair of tiles.
    • You only have a limited number of each option at the start of the game.
      • You start with 5 of each option.
      • Each time you finish a level, you receive 1 new hint or shuffle.
      • You can hold a maximum of 6 hints and 6 shuffles.
      • If you run out of shuffles, you will not gain any more.
    • Unlike most other Mahjong Connect games on our site, this one does not:
      • penalize you for using hints or shuffles
      • automatically shuffle the remaining stones if no valid moves remain
    • When no valid moves remain the game shows a green arrow pointing at the shuffle stones button. So long as the green arrow does not appear it means at least one valid move remains available.
  • Scoring
    • You gain 2 points for every pair you remove.
    • The game records your score at the end of each play.
