• Starting the Game
  • Tap anywhere on the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.
  • Press the PLAY GAME button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including completed levels and star ratings on each stage.
  • Underneath the PLAY GAME button are buttons for sound control, music control, and game developer credits.

    • Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing the W key or the up arrow key.

    • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • The jump button is in the lower right corner of the screen.

• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a simple platforming game where your goal is to make it to the pink exit portal hidden on each stage.
    • Features
      • Switches – bump into them to change which temporary platforms are active or inactive.
      • Temporary platforms – appear as solid brown bricks you can walk on when activated, or as brick outlines you through when inactive.
      • Coins – each one you collect is worth a star for that level, provided you safely make it to the level exit.
      • Umbrellas – grab an umbrella and tap the up arrow key after jumping to slowly descend.
      • Springs – jump on them to jump higher. If you hold the up arrow key after jumping on an enemy you can also jump higher.
      • Ladders – you can go up them but can not go down them. When you go up you move fast & you can destroy both small and big walking enemies by hitting them from the underside while moving up a ladder.
      • Moving platforms – stand on them to move vertically or across to be able to jump onto another platform.
    • Enemies & hazards
      • Small walking enemies – if you run into them from the side you die, but you can stomp them or hit them from the underside.
      • Large walking enemies – you generally must time your moves to avoid them or to jump over them. You can only defeat them by hitting them from the underside while moving up a ladder.
      • Thorns – they remain stationary & if you touch them you die.
      • Chasms – if you fall down them through the bottom of the screen you perish.
  • Levels
    • This game has 32 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it into the pink portal.
      • You lose if you run into the side of an enemy, hit the top of a big enemy, fall off platform into a void, or run into thorns.
    • Star ratings
      • You can earn up to 3 stars on each stage by collecting all 3 coins.
      • Some coins are hidden inside small walking enemies. The enemies holding a coin have an exclamation point over their heads.
      • If you earn fewer than 3 stars on a stage you can play it again to try to collect all the coins and improve your star rating on it.
  • Tips
    • On some stages you have to walk on the ceiling above the level.
      • Seeing where you are at can be hard when you are up there.
      • Sometimes it can make sense to stop moving laterally and jump straight up and down
    • If you are struggling to grab all the coins on a stage beat it without collecting the coins, then come back to play it again after beating the rest of the game.
    • As the stages grow more complex you often need to repeat your path going back and forth. In many cases you need to move to one edge of the stage to pick up an umbrella or activate a switch, then go the other direction.
