• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • Below the play button are the following controls.
    • To the left is the shop button. Select this to open the game’s shop mode.
    • To the right is the gear button. This opens the game’s volume slides.
      • Move the music and sound effects sliders to increase or decrease their respective volumes.
  • Select the enlarge button on the top right corner to switch between windowed and full screen mode.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high score.

    • Hit the bags of money to earn money. Each bag has $1 to $3 inside it.
  • Levels
    • Level progress
      • You start each session at the first level.
        • Once you run out of knives, you proceed to the next level.
      • Progress through all the levels until you proceed to the boss level.
        • The number of levels to the boss level varies wildly.
        • The boss level is marked with a scary monster face on the progress bar.
      • Once you beat a boss level, you unlock a new type of knife.
        • The game continues the sequence of regular levels, boss level, regular levels, boss level, etc. … until you fail a level.
    • Level difficulty
      • Like the number of levels to the shield level, individual level difficulty is determined at random.
      • Level difficulty is a combination of factors:
        • Target movement: How fast does the target move? Does it change direction often? Does it change speed a lot?
        • Pre-placed obstacles: Are there pre-existing knives in the target already?
      • Assess each target with care before shooting.
      • We recommend shooting the knives slowly when dealing with especially challenging targets.
  • Scoring
    • You earn 1 point for every knife you lodge onto the target.
    • You can view your latest and best scores on the game over screen.
  • Knives
    • You start the game with 1 unlocked knife 12 others that are locked.
    • You can unlock the other knives in one of two ways:
      • Use the coins you’ve earned to unlock the knives. 7 knives are unlockable this way.
      • You can unlock even more knives by clearing the shield levels. These knives are unlocked when you beat a boss battle & do not require cash to unlock.
    • Go to the shop to buy and equip knives.
      • Default – automatically equipped.
      • Brahma – $50 to unlock.
      • Camo – $100 to unlock.
      • Climbing – $160 to unlock.
      • Dagger – $220 to unlock.
      • Iron – $280 to unlock.
      • Iris – $340 to unlock.
      • Golden – $500 to unlock.
      • Kitchen, Kunai, Obsidian, Ornate & Survive are unlocked by winning boss battles.
        • You have to beat different bosses to earn each.
        • Re-beating the same boss multiple times will not lead to unlocking multiple knives.
        • You face bosses at random after every so many stages, including a mix of unbeaten & previously beaten bosses.
  • Strategy
    • If there are not a series of knives at the start of the level you can typically throw 4 or 5 knives in rapid succession & then wait to see how the board changes directions or speeds before firing again.
      • Levels are not timed, so it does not hurt to wait a few full rotations to get a handle on the changes in velocity & how frequently they happen.
    • Play aggressive when you are early in the stage progress & play more conservatively when you are at a record score, or when you are near defeating a new boss type to unlock another knife.
    • If the spinning wood piece spins quickly wait for it to slow back down before throwing a knife.
      • In some cases it will alternate directions or speeds at the same location on each spin, whereas in other cases the spin or speed change will happen at a gradually different spot.
