• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button in the lower center of the welcome screen to start the game.
    • Your first play will show a quick tutorial.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including level, coin savings, points, unlocked cannons, and purchased cannon upgrades.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left (and shoot) by pressing the A key, pressing the left arrow key, or clicking your mouse left click button near the left edge of the screen.
    • Move right (and shoot) by pressing the D key, pressing the right arrow key, or clicking your mouse left click button near the right edge of the screen.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap near the left edge of the screen to move left and shoot.

    • The upper left corner shows which of any 4 pick ups are currently active.
    • Right of the pick up area the level number is shown, then your game score, and your coin savings.

    • The cannon upgrade menu shows which cannons you have unlocked in full color & the cost of locked cannons.

• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a cannon shooting game where you move a cannon back and forth & the cannon shoots straight up.
      • Whenever you move side to side the cannon shoots.
      • If you are near the edge of a screen and command the cannon to move further toward the edge it is already on the cannon will keep firing even though you do not move.
    • Ball types
      • The balls you shoot have a number on them, indicating how many more times they need shot to be defeated.
      • Larger balls
        • Large balls have a stronger gravitational force, meaning it is harder to keep them afloat.
        • Some large balls shrink slightly as you repeatedly shoot them, though most larger balls end up breaking apart into 2 smaller balls.
        • Larger balls may break into a couple smaller balls at any time during the shot count.
        • The smaller balls then have their own counts on them, which make correspond to the remaining shots on the large ball, or they could be much larger or much smaller numbers.
  • Levels
    • This game has 65 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
      • When you get to level 66 you face an enemy ball, but after defeating it the game sits there with no more enemies coming.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a stage by destroying all the balls on it.
      • You lose a level if you get hit 3 times and have no heart containers / health remaining.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you on the level which was failed.
  • Power Ups
    • Each level contains some pick ups that fall from the sky periodically.
    • Pick up types:
      • Heart – adds another life on the current level.
        • When you start the next stage you start off with 3 hearts no matter if you beat the current stage with 1 heart or 6.
      • Shield – places a forcefield around you which protects you from balls.
        • After about 10 seconds the shield goes away.
      • Side cannon – adds a second cannon which lasts for about 10 seconds.
        • If you already have one of the cannons that comes with a default side cannon then this adds a second side cannon.
        • If you activate double shot or triple shot this temporary side cannon also has double or triple shot.
      • Double shot – Shoot 2 bullets at a time rather than one.
        • This feature wears off after about 10 seconds.
      • Triple shot – Shoot 3 bullets at a time rather than one.
        • This feature wears off after about 10 seconds.
  • Coins & Upgrades
    • Each enemy you defeat gives you a gold coin worth 50 coins.
      • You keep the coins you have earned in the current level even if you lose.
      • Coins can be used to upgrade your firing speed, movement speed, or cannon type.
    • Movement speed
      • Your horizontal movement speed can be upgraded a total of 19 times. The first upgrade costs 100 and each subsequent upgrade costs 100 more to where the final upgrade costs 1,900 coins.
      • Movement speed upgrades apply to all cannons. You only need to upgrade once & it will impact any and every cannon.
    • Shooting frequency
      • Shot frequency can be upgraded 19 times. The first upgrade costs 100 and each subsequent upgrade costs 100 more to where the final upgrade costs 1,900 coins.

    • Cannon type
      • In addition to the default cannon there are 9 cannons for sale.
      • The first paid cannon costs 1,000 coins & each subsequent cannon costs 1,000 points more.
      • Cannons must be purchased sequentially, though you can switch back and forth between which one you are playing.
      • The differences between cannons is not just aesthetic.
        • More expensive cannons tend to fire faster.
        • The fifth paid cannon has a side cannon which comes equipped automatically. The last 2 available cannons for sale also have side cannons.
  • Tips
    • Sides
      • Typically the best way to clear out the stages without getting overwhelmed by the number of balls on the screen is to focus on one side of the screen first & stay rather close to the edge of the screen on that side unless you need to come off to shoot enemies that are about to hit you, or you need to evade large inbound enemies where your gun is not strong enough to keep them afloat.
      • If you have a cannon with a side cannon the side cannon does not take damage & it can make sense to be near the right edge of the screen with your side cannon slightly left of you.
    • Upgrade order
      • Upgrading your shot speed is more important than upgrading your movement speed, because your shot speed dictates how many enemies you will be able to take on at once.
      • The cannons are rather similar to each other until you get to the fifth upgrade cannon with an extra side cannon. Thus it makes sense to invest heavily into upgrading shot speed (which applies to all cannons) before upgrading your cannon heavily.
    • Gathering coins quickly
      • Level 18 has many large balls that break into smaller balls after only a few shots. The small balls are then valued at 1 each.
      • This makes level 18 a great level to play then quit and replay repeatedly to collect coins for leveling up.
      • When there is only 1 large ball left on level 18 hit the home button, or if you ever get hit press the restart button.
      • Levels 44, 55, and 56 are much like level 18, in of allowing for quick earning of coins for purchagrades.
    • Pick ups
      • Since the shield, side cannon, double shot & triple shot wear off after a period of time you should play a bit less aggressively when they are about to wear off to ensure you do not get stuck.
      • You can’t pick up another version of a pick up you are currently using until that version has been used. They simply through you as though you do not exist.
        • If you have a triple shot it can make sense to downgrade to a double shot so that you extend how long you have an extra shot for.
        • You can cycle back and forth between double shot and triple shot, but you can’t activate a second triple shot if you already have one active.
    • Glitches
      • Some stages have glitches on them where a ball reaches the level zero but does not disappear. If you see this happen you can simply click the home button again to reload the level, and if that still does not fix the issue you can refresh your web browser window to load the level anew.
