• Starting the Game

  • Basic rules
    • Shoot art the collapsible block fortress using the mammoth’s trunk.
      • With your mouse or fingers, move the mammoth’s trunk up or down to aim.
      • After locking in the trunk, pay attention to the meter that appears above the mammoth. This indicates the strength of the shot.
        • The stronger the shot, the farther it goes & the more force it impacts with when it runs into something.
        • Left click or tap at the right moment to shoot the caveman with the right amount of force.
    • Destroy as much of the rickety structure as you can.
    • Collect all the objects shown on the top row to finish the level:
      • The objects include the following:
        • A ham
        • A giant stone hexagon
        • A club
      • Make the objects fall off whatever block they’re sitting on to collect them.
        • You start off collecting only 3 items.
        • From Level 10 onward, on some levels you must pick up more than 3 objects.
        • All objects you need to collect are shown at the top of the stage.
  • Score and star ratings
    • Score
      • Your score is dependent on the number of blocks you destroy and the number of stars you earn.
        • Each block you destroy is worth 10 points.
        • Each star you earn nets you and extra 300 points.
      • Your score is independent of the star rating. But a good star rating is essential for a high score.
    • Star ratings
      • Your star rating depends on the number of shots it took to collect all the items in the list.
      • The fewer shots it takes to clear the level, the higher your star rating will be.
      • The highest star rating is 3.
      • You can view your star ratings from every level you’ve played on the level selector screen.
  • Objects
    • In addition to the items you must collect, each stage contains a variety of the following:
      • fixed platforms – hitting these can block your shot or throw it off course while absorbing much of the kinetic energy
      • spikes – hitting these automatically destroys the caveman head
      • spikes on a string – you can through the string part, but if you hit the main spike structure the caveman head goes poof
      • wood – you can shoot at these to break the structures, while retaining most of your kinetic energy
      • stone – these can also be hit, but they take away most of your kinetic energy
      • hay stacks – these act like trampolines when struck by a caveman head or any other object
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • You start with only the first level playable.
      • Finish one level to unlock the next.
    • There are 36 levels in this game.
      • You can replay any of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
      • We recommend replaying levels to improve your star ratings.
  • Tips
    • Whenever possible try to hit wood rather than stone, as the stone absorbs more of your shot energy.
    • If you are shooting a nearby target you can apply a lot of extra force on your shot so that it also goes on to take out part of a subsequent target.
    • Whenever possible try to shoot with a consistent force level and adjust your aim.
      • You can used fixed portions of the screen’s background or foreground as reference points when aiming.
      • If it is not possible to do a full force shot (because you need to arc around multiple obstacles) then try to use the same angle on your shot and only adjust your shot strength.
      • Adjusting shot strength and angle at the same time is likely to lead to widely varying shots.
