• Starting the Game
  • Press the white play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Upon selecting the first level the game shows the background story. Click the button in the lower right to load the first level.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Depending on your web browser configuration, your web browser may save your game progress.
    • Unlocked levels are shown with a blue outline.
  • The left rail of the welcome screen has buttons for sound control, music control, reading game developer information, and erasing game progress.

    • Press the left arrow key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right.

    • Tap the left side of the screen to move left.

    • The upper left of the screen shows what level number you are playing.
    • The upper right has buttons for restarting the current level and pausing the game. When the game is paused it shows a menu including level select, sound control, and music control.

    • This is a platforming adventure game where your only method of jumping is the automated jump which happens whenever your hiccups happen.
      • Use your hiccups to jump across platforms and avoid the spikes.
      • In some cases you have to fall off platform to collect a key & have your timing just right so that the hiccups help you jump back to safety before falling on spikes.
    • As you advance through the game the levels become more complex.
      • On some stages you will need to collect a key to unlock the location of the other key and then grab the second key to unlock the door.
      • Moving platforms are added to the ordinary fixed platforms.
      • Some stages have low ceilings that make it exceptionally hard to jump over spikes.

      • You beat a level by collecting the keys as needed to unlock the door and through the unlocked door.

  • Tips
    • The hiccups pattern is regular after the initial hiccup.
      • You can follow the head bob and arm movements to notice it.
        • When the head is going down the second time (while on the ground) and the arms are coming up the character will soon jump.
        • It is best to stand still to enable the visual cues for the timing to work better.
        • If you are having trouble seeing the pattern play the game in full screen mode rather than embedded mode & ensure you minimize the glare you see while playing.
      • Playing with sound on can help people with a solid rhythm keep track of the timing.
    • Hard jumps
      • Give yourself a slight bit of space between yourself and spikes you are jumping over so that if you move a bit early you do not instantly walk into spikes.
      • If the ceiling is low you will need tighter timing to make it over spikes.
      • If there is a wide gap to jump across you may need to time your jump so you fall outward a bit off platform and then have the hiccups propel you higher to finish the remainder of the jump.
    • Moving platforms
      • When you are moving across moving platforms you will automatically move with them with the exception of while you are in midair.
      • If a platform is moving horizontally you should move toward the far edge of it in the direction it is headed so that if you jump while it moves you are still above it.
